In the formative years of the NBA, Guy Rodgers was a playmaker extraordinaire – the type of point guard and floor general that always looked to pass first and score second. The three-time Big 5 Most Valuable Player and Temple University All-America handled the basketball like the leather was part of him. He changed direction, flew by defenders, and dissected the lane like few before him. Rodgers liked to score, but he loved to set up his favorite targets for easy baskets. The night teammate Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors, Rodgers dished 20 assists. On another occasion, the pinpoint passer recorded a career-high 28 assists. That was Guy. His court awareness, quickness, and savvy style made him a four-time NBA All Star, and he helped Temple University to the NCAA Final Four in 1956 and 1958. He led the NBA in assists two seasons and finished his career with 6,917 assists.

In 1972, the department was later on shifted to Pusa Institute and then in 1979, to present lush green of 10.5 acres campus at Pushp Vihar, New Delhi. From College of Pharmacy it was upgraded and now emerged as Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) vide gazette notification of July 2004, under Department of Training and Technical Education, GNCT of Delhi affiliated to University of Delhi.
